Richer farmers honour debt payment schedules

Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC)'s office in Phitsanulok reported a drop in debt mispayments in March, following the sharp increase in rice prices.

Thaweerat Phat-innop, director of the branch, said farmers have enjoyed from higher rice prices when paddy rice is Bt10,000 per tonne from about Bt7,000 last year.

He noted that some farmers may retire all their debts after the next harvest.
