How many times have you simply forgotten to make the payment on your leased car?

Now, thanks to a new software, you will never be late because a simple message sent to your mobile phone will keep you informed when the due date draws near.

To help car-leasing companies offer better service, Senior Com, a local developer operating in the auto-industry management software segment, has integrated a two-way short messaging service (SMS) system with auto-business management software, allowing customers to get updated information about their account receivables through their mobile devices.

Called S-One and S-One Plus, the new system will alert customers about their payment due dates through SMS.

Meanwhile, it will also allow customers to check the due dates and account balance any time through their mobile devices.

Senior Com chief executive Somkiat Ungaree said the company has worked with three partners, Software Industry Promotion Agency (Sipa), Microsoft (Thailand) and DTAC, under the SSMD Entrepreneurships Benefit Programme to develop the real-time mobile application and help car-leasing companies better manage their account receivables.

Somkiat said the new system has been designed to be ported on car-leasing companies' existing systems. Customers can also send an SMS to specified phone numbers to check their account information.

"Once the system receives an SMS from the customer, it automatically checks the information and sends a reply to the customer," Somkiat said.

The company has worked with DTAC to use its corporate SMS and two-way SMS system for application development.

The company has recently implemented the new system at a car-leasing company in Maha Sarakram province. It expects to expand the system to cover all of the company's customers.

"We expect that there will be around 10 million customers in our network who can benefit from this service," Somkiat said.

The company has also developed another mobile system to help bill collectors while they are In the field.

Somkiat said the company had integrated the phone network with its new I-One system to allow bill collectors from car-leasing companies to issue bills and receipts to customers immediately through their PDA, or smart phones while In the field.

"They usually carry papers which contain the collection list. However, now they can use their PDA or smart phone to retrieve data from the company's database for updated information and send it back to the company in real time," Somkiat said.
