Wouldn't it be nice to sip wine in funky, publike ambience? Unlike the typical¬ly snooty wine bar, the re¬cently opened Wine Pub caters to funloving wine drinkers. In these relaxing environs, anyone from vine aficionados to occasional wine drinkers will feel wel¬come.
Decked out with glam¬orous, darkwood decor, the cosy pub offers highrise ta¬bles as well as leather sofas. You can also sit at the bar in the middle of the pub and peoplewatch.
Unlike conventional pubs where there's likely to be a huge screen showing a soccer match, the Wine Pub encour¬ages its patrons to chat and socialise by not having any screens on the wall and plac¬ing tables quite close to each other.
Volume up a notch laterChillout tunes from resi¬dent DJ Serge from France aren't so loud as to make talk¬ing an ordeal, but later on the volume is turned up a notch when the latenight revellers start rolling in. Serge is often joined by other guest DJs Oum, Duke "O" Phive, Justin Time and Ben.
There are 110 kinds of wine, including pinot noir, sauvignon, syrah and port. Prices run from Bt170 per glass to Bt640 per carafe. Beers, standard cocktails and whiskey are al¬so served.
The kitchen serves salads, tapas, mezzes and antipasti, along with cheese and cold cuts,
