PAD sets March 28 for the revival of anti-Thaksin activities

The People's Alliance for Democracy has set March 28 as the date to revive the opposition movement to the Thaksin regime which has become active once again via its nominee, the Samak Sundaravej government.

The PAD's first event would be a seminar to chart a political struggle and raise awareness on the abuse of power by the government and allies of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra. The seminar will take place at Thammasat University's Auditorium.

"The country's main problem is the struggle between two forces - the evil capitalist dictatorship and the opposition movement led by PAD and civic groups," PAD spokesman Suriyasai Katasila said on Wednesday.

Suriyasai voiced concerns that the government was trying to revive the police state which thrived in the Thaksin administration and that it was tampering with the justice system in order to help Thaksin and his allies eluding the law.
