Chalerm seeks help from Democrats

Interior Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung on Monday sought recommondations from the Democrat Party for solutions over the southern unrest.

Chalerm issued an urgent letter to Democrat Party secretary-general Suthep Thaugsuban seeking advice from him to curb violence in the south.

The Interior Minister said he was not ashamed or embarrassed for the move because he regarded the issues as national problems. He wants to get information from the Opposition because he believes the Democrats know best about the south.

He said he was ready to talk to both Suthep and Opposition Leader and Democrat Party leader Abhist Vejjajiva on the issues.
