Two kids to 'show' United the way

Two local children will have the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of soccer's elite names, having won the American International Assurance's (AIA) 'Bring Thai Kids to Manchester United' project.

Sophon Photirut and Pokkloa Meesati have earned a once-in-a lifetime opportunity, with a trip to England, where they will to lead players to the field at United's famous Old Trafford stadium, in one of the biggest matches of the season, when Sir Alex Ferguson's men entertain Liverpool on March 23.

The project was conceived by the US-based American International Assurance and the television programme, Phandin-diewkan Ban Chan Ban Thur (My home and yours, we are on the same turf) on Channel 9, to gift children aged between 8-12 a first-hand experience of soccer in England, in arguably the world's most popular league.

In the final round of the contest, fifteen children had to showcase their talent, not necessarily soccer skills.

As excited as they might be, some of the contestants got caught up in the moment and broke down, but managed to complete the audition.
