"The PAD used to say it would allow the government a chance to prove its performance, but no work has started yet. I also deem it unnecessary for a rally because Thaksin is a citizen and is entitled to return to the Kingdom," he said.
Chalerm said the PAD should reflect on its stand rather than rush to attack Thaksin without justification. "The PAD once alleged that Thaksin was anti-royalist - but refrained from showing its accountability after the Office of the Attorney General dropped the charges," he said.
He said he would not intervene with pro- and anti-Thaksin rallies, if held, although he would ensure there would be no confrontation between rival groups.
Chalerm said the definite date of Thaksin's return should be known tomorrow.
