Total market value of homes built is expected to be around Bt8.5 billion this year.
Seacon Home general manager Supitcha Chaipipat said the company had set a similar marketing budget to last year. She said the company was successful last year despite the economic downturn.
The company has reinforced awareness of the Seacon brand by launching TV advertising and offering new designs, providing more services by opening new branches in Ram-Intra, Chaeng Wattana and Kanchanaphisek as well as upgrading its website.
For this year, she said Seacon planned to offer 10 new home designs ranging from 200 to 400 square metres targeting younger buyers. "The new designs will be more modern to match the lifestyles of the younger generation," Supitcha said. Seacon currently offers 75 home designs.
Some of the new designs may be launched next month at a home fair to be held at Central department store, Lat Phrao.
Supitcha said the average price per home this year was expected to be around Bt3 million, compared to Bt2.8 million last year, due to a rise in the cost of building materials.
"Small-sized homes were more popular last year due to political uncertainty and sluggish consumer spending", she said, adding that the situation should improve this year as the new government had taken office.
Supitcha said the company had 150 units being built and a backlog of 180 units that were waiting for contracts to be signed.
Seacon Home also introduced a new campaign to create customer relationships by opening a membership scheme for those who were existing clients or who were interested in buying a property.
One of the benefits members will receive is a home rental reimbursement ranging from Bt5,000 to Bt10,000 per month if they decide to have a new home built to replace their existing house.
