THAI's Boeing 737-400s are now making two hour-long flights a day between Bangkok and the island. The first departs Suvarnabhumi Airport at 7.45am and the second at 4pm.

Until March 31, the ticket-only one-way fare is Bt2,450 in economy and Bt3,600 in business.

Best Western moves into Pratunam

Best Western will on March 1 open its latest Thai property - the 50-room Best Western Mayfair Suites, promising contemporary elegance in a tranquil soi in Bangkok's Pratunam district.

"Best Western Mayfair Suites places guests in the centre of Bangkok's shopping paradise," says the firm's vice president for Asia, Glenn de Souza.

The hotel is within walking distance of Pratunam's bustling clothing market, the Baiyoke Tower and the computer haven of Panthip Plaza, and only minutes from the upscale boutiques and restaurants at Siam Paragon, CentralWorld and Gaysorn.
