The spacious garden was a lot less spacious by the time all the guests, reporters and cameramen had amassed for the show.
And what a show! The beautiful stars were dressed head to toe in classy Dior gowns, Kathaleeya - a Dior devotee since her university days - in a black cocktail number.
"I find Dior's masculine looks very attractive, and the skirts may not be so sweet, but they're smart!"
Meria, in a silky, shiny navy-blue dress, proclaimed that Dior's distinction lies in the neat and elegant designs.
"The refined cutting beautifully matches the female figure," she said.
The new ready-to-wear collection features basic yet chic tones like black, white, beige and red, as well as pastels, while maintaining the intricate details and lovely draping.
The "afternoon" wear had that masculine element that Kathaleeya enjoys, allowing for easy movement. There were shirts, straight pants, waistcoats and blazers in black and white, some with zebra stripes.
The cocktail outfits added refinements plucked from the jazz and cabaret scene, beautifully translated with sheer, soft fabrics and classy pastel tones.
The glamour factor was boosted with embroidery and embellishments of lily motifs and leopard prints, not to forget the fur that gave flounce to the hems.
The evening gowns delighted with all the gorgeous femininity expected of a Dior lady. There were long skirts paired with pagoda-sleeved jackets in pastels and sheer satin, then long, body-hugging dresses that were utterly feminine and completely classy. These relied more on darker tones - black and red - and zebra prints.
A highlight of the show was the "It" bag, a simple concoction either in basic white or beige or splashed with zebra or leopard prints, silver-chain straps and polished metal locks.
The other accessories getting plenty of attention were shoes with outstandingly high heels, gleaming with silver sheen at the heels and toes and a crystal embellishment at the heels.
