Danai Udomchoke went down to Bojorn Rehnquist of Sweden in the final of the US$50,000 China TCL Challenger in Guangzhou.

Danai easily took the first set before his first serve deserted him, resulting in the 6-2 6-7 (4/7) 2-6 defeat.

He was disappointed at not being able to win the trophy as a birthday gift for his mother Kanchana.

Danai will return to Bangkok today to join the Davis Cup team preparing to face Kazakhstan in Almaty.
