Tabling tasty options

Welcome in the Year of the Lucky Rat with a sumptuous feast at InterContinental Bangkok's Summer Palace. From Chinese New Year's Eve on Wednesday, February 6 until Thursday, February 14 the restaurant is featuring an array of tempting set banquets.

Choose from various Chinese New Year set menus served at both lunch and dinner, starting at Bt4,888 per table and rising to Bt22,888.

Among executive Chinese chef Allan Tse's special dishes during this Lunar New Year celebration are chilled abalone with jellyfish salad, barbecued suckling pig "Hong Kong style", steamed red Garoupa "Hong Kong style", raw salmon "Yee Sang", poached sea whelk with bean sprouts, fried glutinous rice "Hong Kong style", double-boiled shark's fin dumpling with abalone soup, and wok-sautéed scallops with XO chilli sauce.

On Chinese New Year's day - February 7 - there's live Gu-Zheng music from 7 until 9pm and Lion Dance shows at midday and 6.30pm.  A traditional orange "gift" tree will be waiting with a special surprise gift for you. Call (02) 656 0360 for reservations.

Chinese New Year is gnawing ever closer and from tomorrow through the end of February you are invited to celebrate the occasion at Lin-Fa Chinese restaurant in Siam City hotel with two special set menus.

Set menu 1 is Bt9,800 per table of 10 while set menu 2 is Bt12,500. The menus offer combinations that include the restaurant's all-time favourites, such as slow-braised shark's fin, roasted Peking duck, barbecued "Hong Kong style" suckling pig, steamed sand goby, and beef with black pepper and foie gras.
