The WiWorld mobile satellite-television antenna.

Shin Broadband Internet (Thailand) has launched a mobile satellite-television antenna for watching television in cars.

The company, a subsidiary of Shin Satellite, aims to tap executives and their families who do not want to miss television programmes while travelling.

Shin Broadband targets the sale of 1,500 sets of WiWorld antennas this year, said general manager Thanadit Charoenchan. An antenna costs Bt32,900, plus an installation cost of Bt2,000. The company expects revenue of Bt500 million this year, most of which will be contributed by its sales of satellite-TV dishes for home users, up from Bt200 million last year. This year. the company plans to sell 500,000 home-satellite dishes.

It also provides a video-on-demand service under the brand HD Cinema to owners of high-definition TVs

 The service has 100 subscribers.
