On the cover: Mahatma Gandhi and his motto, "Be the change that you want to see in the world."

A Day

Inside is a biography, an analysis of why he struggled for his people, and a glimpse of how Indians today view Gandhi.

Hitting cinemas next month, "The 8th Day" is challenging the dominance of full-colour movies. The so-called film noir had its start when screenwriter Warisara Puthpavana couldn't get to sleep one night and ended up finishing a full script about morals in three days.

Nares Hanphanphong outshone more than 1,700 applicants last year to become the new host of television's "Kob Nok Kala" ("Frog Out of the Shell"). The man's good-looking enough to be a model, but instead he's digging up his stories out in the hot sun.

Singer Rik Vachirapiran always seems so different from others, but her interviewer here insists she's completely normal. Rik does admit, however, that her feminist temper boils over when she encounters male chauvinists.
