Radwanska, Mirza to lead Pattaya field

Polish teenager Agnieszka Radwanska and India's Sania Mirza are expected to continue their spectacular form from the Australian Open for the fans in Thailand as they lead the field of the US$170,000 Pattaya Women's Open next month.

The 19-year-old Radwans-ka, ranked 28th, and big-hitting Mirza will be the top seeds in the tournament, which takes place at the Dusit Resort Hotel from February 2-10.

Radwanska, the former Wimbledon junior champion, was one of the Tour's rising stars last year and caused some hype in the 2007 US Open, where she upset defending champion Maria Sharapova in the third round. Her younger sister Urzsula, the 2007 top junior player, will also take part in the event with a wild-card entry.

Mirza will return to the beach city after reaching the semi-finals last year.

Also appearing in the line-up are former top 10 Alicia Molik from Australia, Italian Fed Cup player Mara Santangelo and France's Aravane Rezai.

Thailand's challenge will once again be led by Tamarine Tanasugarn, who reached the final in 1996, and wild-card entry Noppawan Lertcheewak-arn, who stormed through the qualifying rounds before falling to Aiko Nakamura last year.

After 17 editions, the tournament will move from Pattaya after this year. It will be relocated in Bangkok from 2009.
