Cheaper Lexus

Toyota Motor Thailand slashed the prices of new Lexus vehicles by between Bt300,000 and Bt640,000 on January 1, in accordance with the Japan-Thailand Economic Partnership Agreement.

In a company statement, executive vice president Vuthikorn Suriyachan-thananon said both countries had agreed to tariff cuts and thus prices of Lexus vehicles with engines above 3,000cc could be reduced.

Four models have new sticker prices: the LS460 (long wheelbase), LS460 (short wheelbase), RX400H and RX350. For example, the new price of the long wheelbase LS460 is Bt10.91 million, a savings of Bt640,000 from the old price of Bt11.55 million.

Last year, Toyota sold 362 Lexus vehicles, up 15 per cent from 2006.

The prices of the Ventury Commuter and Hiace vans will also be reduced between Bt11,000 and Bt15,000.
