One rode the bicycle to a Children's Day event at the Bangkok Yai police station, only to be accused of stealing it from the other girl, the daughter of a police officer.
Her mother flatly denies the allegation and said she bought it for her eighyearold daughter as a reward for her good work at school. She said she purchased it last year at a Worachak shop for Bt2,100.
Police will seek the help of the model's manufacturer today in determining where the twowheeler was sold, Lieutenant Apisit Suwanrat said. "Then we will return it to its legitimate owner."
About 20 of the girl's neighbours showed up at the police station late on Saturday night to corroborate her story.
The other girl's mother says her daughter's pink bike was stolen three weeks ago
