The road network, which connects Singapore to Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, will become fully operational early this year after completion of the last trials. Linking it to TNT's Chinese domestic network will be the next step.
OpenTV for TrueVisions
TrueVisions UBC, the digital pay-TV operator, has selected OpenTV's middleware solution to enable and power its new personal video-recorder services.
"OpenTV is very excited to have been selected by TrueVisions UBC to enable a wide array of PVR functionalities and power a strong offering of new services," Mike Ivanchenko, OpenTV's senior vice president of sales, said last week.
OpenTV is a provider of solutions for the delivery of advanced digital television and cross-platform interactive services.
"This new deployment further strengthens OpenTV's position as the provider of choice for middleware solutions and reinforces our vision of an integrated digital world where consumers have easy access to meaningful and targeted content," he added.
TrueVisions UBC will be offering standard definition PVRs by Humax, integrated with OpenTV Core2 and OpenTV PVR2 solutions, in combination with Irdeto's content security for digital TV.
New service from FedExFedEx Express last week launched the FedEx International Economy delivery service in Thailand and nine other Asia-Pacific markets.
The new service is an economical, day-definite, customs-cleared, door-to-door service that features a transit time typically one to two days longer than premium FedEx International Priority service, which is designed for more time-sensitive shipments.
It addresses the needs of customers who look for reliability and cost efficiency as a top priority in shipping. It is also designed for customers with less urgent shipments of individual packages under 68 kilograms.

Simulator for EtihadEtihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, continues to expand the innovative pilot training facilities at its Abu Dhabi-base following the order of a CAE 7000 Series A320 full-flight simulator.
The simulator, manufactured by Canada-based CAE and scheduled for delivery next month, costs US$15 million (Bt502 million) at list prices and can be adapted to recreate the flight deck of any aircraft within the Airbus A320 range.
Three more A320s will join Etihad's fleet in April.
