Chilling out with Cholonant
Evenings at the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok now sound sweeter thanks to young vocalist Cholanant Limthai, who entertains with cool jazz, rhythm and blues and much, much more Tuesday through Sunday from 8pm to midnight in the Lobby Lounge.
Cholanant, who's known to her friends and fans as Look Pad, has made a name for herself on the local music scene and was the back-up vocalist for Norah Jones at her recent Bangkok concert. She's also come out with her own album. Meet her and her band at the hotel, which is just a short walk along Rajdamri Road from the Erawan Shrine.
Marina makes tracks
The Royal Phuket Marina (Royalphuketmarina.com) is sailing full-steam ahead with the opening of many restaurants, shops, art galleries and yacht charter companies.
Led by Les Anges, a gourmet bakery and patisserie founded by Peter Webber, a former chef at Bangkok's Oriental Hotel and The Savoy in London, new F&B outlets include Skippers Sports Bar and Restaurant, a stylish venue newly opened by retired Cathay Pacific captain Peter Hay.
Limoncello, named after the world famous Capri Island liquor, has an authentic Italian kitchen serving superb Mediterranean cuisine with a unique wine list.
Stylish shops include Intentio and Kai Tak Furnishings selling contemporary and antique furniture and home decor as well as D Gallery which showcases contemporary Asian art.
With 350 berths for yachts of up to 30 metres long, the marina also now boasts Asia's most sophisticated and high-tech yachting infrastructure.
Toast to a new beach bar
