Germany midfielder Frings back in Bremen training

Belek, Turkey (dpa) - German midfielder Torsten Frings returned to training at Werder Bremen on Tuesday night from a long injury absence and hopes to be fully fit again when German Bundesliga football action resumes in early February.

"I feel very good but can't afford to rush things. There is still some time left until the league resumes," the 31-year-old Frings said at Bremen's training camp in Turkey.

Plagued by knee problems, Frings has played just three league matches, two Champions League games and two Euro 2008 qualifiers between October 6 and 27 this season.

His return to action will also be welcomed by Germany coach Joachim Loew as Frings is expected to be an important player at the Euro event June 9-27 in Austria and Switzerland.
