Man: So what did you do over the holidays?

Woman: You won't believe it. Frank proposed to me!

Man: Congratulations. When are you going to tie the knot?

Woman: Tie the knot? Frank's ok for a boyfriend but I do expect to do better than that for a husband - no prospects.

Woman: I was. But I didn't want to go alone; my old man can be a real bore at times.

Man: So you invited Frank to tag along.

Woman: Sure. He didn't have anything better to do.

Man: And it didn't occur to you that basically you were setting him up, knowing what a traditionalist he is?

Woman: Who in his right mind would have thought of this?

Man: He did. Let me guess: he went down on his knee under the Christmas tree in front of your parents. Right?

Woman: It was so romantic. My mother was in tears.

Man: And that's why you accepted?

Woman: I know who signs my check every month.
