Danai Through to Aussie Open 2ND Qualie

Thai No 1 Danai Udomchoke settled score over Japan's Takao Suzuki for a place in the second qualifying round of the Australian Open on Wednesday.

Having surrendered five out of six matches to the Japanese sever-and-volleyer prior to the match, the 28 th ranked Danai succeeded in his attempt to end the losing streaks, winning the match 6-3 6-3 at the Melbourne Park.

Waiting for him in round two is Frenchman Anthony Depuis, the t97 th ranked player who survived a three setter against Colin Ebelthite of Australia 6-4 3-6 8-6.

On the women's side, sixth-seeded Tammy sixth seed has been drawn to take on Melanie South of Great Britain after the draw was announced on Wednesday.
