The largest cellular operator launched its Pay Station service two years ago at its branches, Telewiz handset shops and mini-marts, where customers can pay about 60 types of bill from public utilities to credit-card bills.

Lately it has accepted bill payments of Aeon credit cards.

AIS will focus on service expansion in various communities to provide convenience to consumers, Sakchai added.

Pay Station has recorded combined payments of more than 100,000 bills per month.

AIS has over 24 million mobile-phone subscribers.

True Move is the other cellular operator offering a similar service to its customers. Last year it partnered with VCD/DVD rental store chain Tsutaya (Thailand), Double A paper-maker Advance Agro, and prepaid top-up service provider Electronics Payment Network (Thailand), to gradually launch True Money Express payment counters at Tsutaya and Double A stores, where customers can pay True Group, utility and other bills.

Tsutaya has 260 branches nationwide and Double A 1,111.
