First batch of winning candidates to be endorsed tomorrow

The Election Commission is expected tomorrow to start endorsing the first batch of voting results for 100 to 200 winning candidates, EC member Sodsri Satayathum said on Wednesday.

"The endorsement will begin with those undisputed results which should be sufficient to allow the convening of the House within the 30day deadline," she said.

For disputed results and those linked to electoral fraud, the EC will try to complete its probes by January 15, she said.

She said the EC will not bow down to pressure relating to its review of campaign violations.

She also said police investigator Maj General Chaiya Siriamphankul would complete the investigation on the election fraud case in Buri Ram. She was reacting to a demand for his removal by the People Power Party on grounds of unfairness.
