To join or not to join

Chart Thai and Puea Pandin parties will hold a joint news conference on Wednesday to announce their decision about whether to join a People Power Party-led coalition.

The same day will see PPP executives meet to discuss the red and yellow cards issued against its candidates. It will endorse the formation of a coalition with five smaller parties.

PPP leader Samak Sundaravej will announce the formation of a coalition government on Thursday.

Minor parties, major postions

This week should see a tentative Cabinet line-up emerge following the coalition announcement.

Matchima Thipataya deputy leader Banyin Tangpakorn said his party was promised two Cabinet seats. It is believed that the Ruam Jai Thai Chart Pattana has requested nine, Pracharaj five and Chart Thai and Puea Pandin eight posts each.
