Both Wade and Iguodala hit 20-footers at the buzzer Saturday night to lead their respective squads to badly needed thrilling victories. The Heat edged visiting Utah, 104-102, and the 76ers trimmed host Memphis, 99-97.
"You've just got to keep playing through it," Iguodala said. "The game isn't over until the clock reaches triple zeros."
In addition, Vince Carter buried a go-ahead 3-pointer with 24 seconds left as the host New Jersey Nets recovered after blowing a big lead to shoot down the Golden State Warriors, 100-95.
It has been a tough season for Wade and the Heat (8-19), who came into Saturday's home game vs. Utah with the worst record in the Eastern Conference. Miami held a 16-point third-quarter before Utah began pecking away.
Led by C.J. Miles, who scored 14 of his 20 points in the final period, the Jazz took a 100-99 lead on two free throws by Matt Harpring with 46 seconds to play. Wade found rookie Daequan Cook for a 3-pointer but had to play hero again after Utah's Carlos Boozer tied it with 18 seconds left.
Wade's jumper hit the rim, bounced up and through at the buzzer, sending Utah to its ninth loss in 11 games. Miami had lost each of its last two games in overtime.
"I was just trying to be aggressive and got a shot," said Wade, the 2006 Finals MVP. "It's big because we'd lost four of our last five games. ... This shows the toughness of the team. We can build from here."
Wade scored 20 points to lead six players in double figures, including all three who came off the bench. Shaquille O'Neal had 17 points and 10 rebounds before fouling out for the fifth straight game.
Deron Williams scored 22 points and Russian Andrei Kirilenko added 21 for the Jazz, who have lost eight of their last nine meetings with the Heat.
Iguodala is the centrepiece of Philadelphia's rebuilding project but got off to a slow start in Memphis, scoring just six points through the first three quarters. But he came alive in the final period, scoring 17 points.
Two foul shots by Iguodala gave the Sixers a 92-85 lead with 2:01 to play before the Grizzlies rallied behind Spanish star Pau Gasol, who had a season-high 31 points and 13 rebounds.
Gasol scored nine of Memphis' last 10 points, including a lefthanded hook with 5.2 seconds remaining to forge a 97-97 tie. On the next possession, Iguodala took the inbounds pass, dribbled once and launched a jumper over Mike Miller that splashed through the net as the buzzer sounded.
"I'd gotten a good rhythm going there in the fourth, and from there, the basket gets bigger," Iguodala said. "The shot felt good going up."
"He just made a tough shot," Miller said. "You've got to give him credit."
Andre Miller scored a season-high 29 points for the Sixers, who snapped a two-game slide. Mike Miller and Rudy Gay scored 19 points each for the Grizzlies, who have dropped nine of 11.
