BoI approves auto projects

The Board of Investment has approved tax incentives for five auto-parts projects worth a combined Bt10.246 billion, which will meet rising demand from auto-makers.

The largest one belongs to Maxxis International (Thailand), which will spend Bt9.367 billion to increase radial-tyre production. Its plant is located in Rayong's Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate.

The other four projects, worth Bt879 million, belong to GKN Driveline Toyoda Manufacturing, THK Rhythm (Thailand), Global-Thaixon Precision Industry and Autoliv (Thailand).

VietJet to fly to Thailand

The Vietnamese Transport Ministry has licensed a joint-stock airline company: VietJet, the country's fourth air carrier.

With registered capital of 600 billion dong (Bt1.26 billion), VietJet was licensed for domestic routes linking Ho Chi Minh City with Da Nang and Hanoi and international services linking Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi with Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan. - Viet Nam News/Asia News Network
