SET may suspend PTT on Friday

Stock Exchange of Thailand President Patareeya Benjapholchai said on Wednesday that the exchange may suspend the trading of PTT Plc on December 14 when the Supreme Administrative Court is scheduled to rule on its privatisation procedures.

Patareeya said that the SP is one option to handle impacts of the ruling on large and small investors.

She also noted that PTT executives had sought advice from the Securities and Exchange Commission to handle the post-ruling chaos.

If the court rules that PTT's privatisation years ago was unlawful, the company would lose its listing status and the state would need to tender for all shares held by other investors.
