Tax collection above target

The Finance Ministry in November collected tax revenues of Bt111.37 billion, Bt2.7 billion or 2.5 per cent above target, according to the Fiscal Policy Office.

Contributing to the increase is higher value added tax (VAT) and corporate taxes.

In the first two months of the 2008 fiscal year, starting from October, the combined revenue of Bt224.5 billion has been collected, Bt1.265 billion above target, said Somchai Sajjapongse, advisor to the office.
