Chartchai says he wants to help people in his hometown province, besides being an alternative for them.
He wants to challenge the premise that southerners only vote for Democrats.
"I heard some people say, if the Democrat Party sent a power pole as a candidate, it would be selected," he said.
Chartchai said his strong points were that he belongs to a new generation and had the political ideology and willingness to help southerners. He would try to make a difference by accomplishing many things for people after getting elected.
"If I have to lose the election, I will lose as a gentleman. I will definitely not buy votes," he said.
But he would run once more if he loses this time. But he would stop if he failed the next time also.
He plans to push for Songkhla as a commercial hub in the Lower South with Hat Yai and Sadao as tax-free
economic zones.
Many tax-free goods were sold in the two districts but they were contraband, he said. He also wants to make shops in the districts legal to draw tourists.
He would also push for marine transportation connecting the Andaman Sea to the Gulf of Thailand as well
as for deep-sea ports in Satun and Songkhla.
