His Excellency completed the quarter-marathon - 10.5 kilometres - in 72 minutes, but no, you're right, that's not even close to a record.

 While he was waiting (and praying) for his heartbeat to normalise, Quayle was informed that he had set a new world record - for a British ambassador to Thailand! Damn the diplomacy, that calls for a beer.
