He has said he will back Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva to be prime minister if he manages to win. But the "painful truth" is that Bhichit is a candidate of the Ruam Jai Thai Chat Pattana Party, whose leader is General Chettha Thanajaro. The Democrats have already named candidates for the three MP seats in Constituency 8 - Khunying Kalaya Sophonpanich, Samart Maluleem and Suthee Panyasakul.
If Bhichit, a former Democrat, plans to back Abhisit, why did he bother to run for Ruam Jai Thai Chat Pattana? His sudden change might be the result of recent opinion surveys that showed none of the party's candidates, including himself, would win a seat in the capital. Only those of the Democrat and People Power parties will share the 36 seats at stake.
Bhichit's move implies he is losing faith in his party with just three weeks to go till the election.
Mr ONE suggests Kalaya ask the Election Commission to "investigate" this matter because Bhichit has confused voters, particularly the Democrats' supporters.
He is exploiting Abhisit's popularity to win himself a seat as he is apparently presenting himself as the Democrats' "fourth candidate" in the constituency.
It's not illegal, but morally wrong.
Just remember, Bhichit. Your party leader is Chettha Thanajaro. Period.
