Sodsri downplayed the dispute saying the problem was caused by incomplete documentation to change the party's name.
She said the EC on Wednesday explained to the representative of Prachai that the party's spokesman can sign to endorse the request to change the party name but since the spokesman had yet to complete the task, the political party registrar could not issue the certificate for the name to be changed. As a result Prachai is not officially endorsed as the party leader and has no right to dissolve the party.
"We have no intention to delay the process as alleged,'' she said.
Prachai had alleged that the previous party executive board blackmailed him demanding Bt60 million in exchange for their signatures to endorse the document to change the party's name. He also alleged that some EC members conspired with the old board.
