Deputy Prime Minister Sonthi Boonyaratglin and his two Muslim wives, Sukanya and Piyada, have a combined net worth of about Bt95 million, the National Counter Corruption Commission said yesterday in the release of Sonthi's

asset statement filed 30 days after assuming office in October.

Sonthi has about Bt38 million in assets under his name, comprising Bt23 million in savings in commercial banks and other financial institutions, Bt142,600 in treasury bonds, Bt6.3 million in securities, Bt4.7 million in other invested funds and a house worth Bt4 million.

Sukanya has reported wealth of Bt14 million minus Bt77,000 in liabilities. Her assets include six saving accounts worth Bt3.9 million, one land plot worth Bt1.3 million, two houses valued at Bt4.2 million and two cars with price tags of Bt4.1 million.

Piyada has Bt42 million worth of assets, including Bt7 million in savings, 16 plots worth Bt16.6 million, two houses and one building worth Bt14 million and five cars at Bt3.7 million.

Sonthi's minor daughter Sasiprapha has Bt323,702 to her name.

Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont declared his assets upon assuming the interior portfolio. He has a net worth of Bt24 million while his wife Thanphuying Chitrawadee is worth Bt67 million.

Five Cabinet members filed asset statements after leaving office in the wake of violating the 5 per cent cap on equity stakes.

Sithichai Pookaiyaudom and his wife Pornpan had a combined net worth of about Bt1 billion after departing the Information and Communication Technology Ministry.
