Thailand's Sudket Prapakamol and Saralee Thungthongkam cruised into the mixed-doubles quarter-finals of the China Open badminton Super Series after beating Joachim Fischer Nielsen and Britta Andersen of Denmark in Guangzhao.

The Thais, who won 21-15 16-21 21-15, face an uphill task when they take on China's Zheng Bo and Gao Ling. The world No 1 pair beat Lee Jaejin and Hwang Yumi of South Korea 21-19 21-12. Songphon Anukrittayawan and Kunchala Voravichit-chaikul went down to Xu Chen and Zhao Tingting

of China 21-15 21-14.
