"Chart Thai will highlight practical policies for Bangkok residents instead of selling dreams," Korn said.
Korn said although the party fieled 36 candidates in the capital, it projected a strong chance for the victory of three candidates in Constituency 5 covering Don Mueang, Bang Khen and Sai Mai.
The three are former MP Janista Liewchalermwong and two newcomers, Chamadol Hongsakul and Thitichok Kanchanapakdee.
If elected as the next government, the party's plans for Bangkok include the conversion of gasoline to natural gas for all types of vehicles and the construction of more than 100,000 housing units per year for lowincome people, Korn said.
Party leader Banharn Silapaarcha had the track record on budgetary allocations and was prepared to earmark Bt100 billion of the Bt1.6 trillion budget for 2008 to resolve urgent problems right after assuming office, he said.
"Unlike other parties boasting about projects without mentioning where they would get the money, my party leader has Bt100 billion available for immediate spendings," he said.
