SET ends lower 2.11%

Thai shares closed down 2.11 per cent on Monday on the lingering anxiety over the US sub-prime mortgage loan impact.



The SET index started the day with a mild drop before headed south further to close at the day's low at 831.14. Turnover was thin at Bt16.06 billion.

 Among the most active stocks, PTT Plc (PTT) fell 2.69 per cent at Bt362, PTT Exploration and Production Plc (PTTEP) slumped 3.57 per cent at Bt135, International Engineering Plc (IEC) was up 17.02 per cent at Bt1.10, Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) went down 3.41 per cent at Bt85, and Banpu Plc (BANPU) lost 3.78 per cent at Bt356.
