Thailand becomes closer to Russians with Transaero

The first Russian private airline "Transaero Airlines" launches scheduled flights to Thailand

Thailand becomes closer to Russians with Transaero

The first Russian private airline established in 1991, Transaero Airlines has been always confirmed that the development of air traffic between Russia and Thailand is essential for both countries.  To meet the highly growing demands of travelers Transaero has even implemented the strategy of diversifying route network of direct non-stop flights between Russia and Thailand.  And at present the Airline performs regular flights from Moscow and St.Petersburg in Russia to Thailand airports in Bangkok and Phuket.

"Transaero is the leading Russian air carrier on the route to Thailand" said Mr. Dmitri Erzakovich, the Airline's General Representative in Thailand.  And his words are true: Transaero Airlines now operates one daily flight on B747 from Moscow's Domodedovo Airport to Bangkok's Suvannaphumi Airport, two flights a week on B767 to Phuket, and also two flights a week from St.Petersburg on B767 to Bangkok.  As mentioned above the Carrier aims at providing the largest seat capacity on these routes to bring more Russian passengers to Thailand.  Thus on October 29, 2007 four Transaero's Jumbo Jets landed in Thai airports at once.  Rest Russian airlines flying to Thailand are Aeroflot/Siberia Airlines/Vladivostok Air and many other on chartered basis.

Transaero seems to realise the need for enlarging passenger capacity on Russia - Thailand destination and constantly works on salvation of this problem.  Lately the number of flights performed by the Airline on this route increased tremendously from 54 in 2002 to 1399 in 2006.  As a result the number of passengers carried on this route increased by 151.4% during the mentioned period.  This year the growth continues.  Total number of carried passengers on this destination in the first half of 2007 is about 139 000 in comparison with only about 130 000 in whole 2006.

Presently, Transaero is the second largest airline on international routes in Russia operating regular flights to almost 70 destinations in America, Europe, Asia and Africa.  It has the largest long-haul fleet in means of seat capacity among Russian airlines.  Transaero has always provided its passengers with the highest standards of service.  Bangkok is the most successful destination in Asia for the Airline and others are Singapore, Ho Chi Minh, Denpasar and Kuala Lumpur in Southeast Asia, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Sanya in China, Amritsar and Goa in India.  It has 28 aircrafts in its fleet with intercontinental B747 Jumbos, B767s, midle-range B737s and one Tu-214ER.
