His Majesty, who arrived at the Bangkok hospital on Tuesday night, will leave tomorrow.

According to the latest announcement from the Royal Household Bureau, the 84-year-old Princess has a fever but her blood pressure is within normal range.

Her doctors have now given her antibiotics in addition to other medicines and she has continued to receive physical therapy and intravenous nourishment.

"The Princess is conscious and can partake of some food," the announcement added.

As the much-revered and much-beloved monarch appeared at the hospital, joy filled the hearts of his people who camped out waiting to greet him.

"When His Majesty waved to us, like many other people here, my eyes were filled with tears of delight," Ngarmlak Hongthong, 43, said yesterday.

She said she had travelled down from the northeastern province of Maha Sarakham to Bangkok as soon as she heard from her friends that His Majesty was going to visit his elder sister.

"I arrived at the hospital on November 13 in time to see His Majesty walk in," Ngarmlak said, "I really wish His Majesty to be blessed with good health and long life."

Ngarmlak said she also had a chance to meet HM the Queen Sirikit, who left the hospital at around 2am yesterday to return to the palace.

"Her Majesty greeted us and expressed thanks for our concerns for His Majesty," Ngarmlak said. "At that moment, we no longer felt like sleeping."

According to Ngarmlak, Her Majesty said His Majesty was now healthy but would come to the hospital often to visit the Princess. The King was admitted to Siriraj Hospital on October 13 and was discharged just last week.

During his hospitalisation, more than a million people flocked in to sign get-well messages for the beloved monarch.

Because yellow is a colour associated with His Majesty's birthday, Thais have donned yellow to express their loyalty to him. This year, pink has also enjoyed immense popularity because it is said to be an auspicious colour for the King.

Ngarmlak said Her Majesty early yesterday told her that the pink and yellow dots among the crowd looked so beautiful.

"I will stay here till His Majesty leaves the hospital," Ngarmlak said. She had heard that His Majesty would leave tomorrow.

At the hospital's Centenary Pavilion, the Royal Household Bureau continued to prepare guest books for people to sign messages for the Princess.

Among them were high-profile figures such as caretaker Information and Communications Technology Minister Sue Lo-utai and Thanpuying Boonruen Choonhavan, wife of the late premier Chatichai Choonhavan.

Boonruen said she had known the Princess since she was young, and she was praying for the Princess' good health every day. She cut short the interview after tears welled up in her eyes.

Meanwhile, green-coloured clothes were yesterday emerging as the next popular item. When His Majesty appeared at Siriraj Hospital on Tuesday, he wore a pink shirt and a green blazer.

"Thais love our King so much that they want to wear the colour His Majesty has donned," clothes vendor Somying Puangjinda said yesterday.

On November 7, His Majesty left the Siriraj Hospital in a pink shirt and a pink blazer. Throughout the past week, pink was very popular.

"I have already sold 200 pink T-shirts today," Somying said from her shop in Bangkok.
