GMM profits soar
GMM Grammy Plc's third quarter consolidated net profit nearly doubled, from Bt73 million last year to Bt140 million this year.
In the filing to the Stock Exchange of Thailand, the entertainment company also posted a sharp increase in its nine-month net profit, from Bt171.7 million last year to Bt318.3 million.
On the non-consolidated basis, GMM Grammy also saw its third quarter net profit increase from Bt101.75 million last year to Bt154.6 million.
It attributed the better financial results in the first 9 months to the 10 per cent increase in proceeds from contents and copyrights. With many more artists, it witnessed a 52 per cent annualised increase in concert organisating revenue, from Bt141 million last year to Bt215 million.
