Pramuan becomes fourth party leader to run in Bangkok

Prachamati Party leader Pramuan Ruchanaseree registered his partylist candidacy on Thursday to vie for proportionate votes in Zone 6, which covers Bangkok, Samut Prakan and Nonthaburi.

Pramuan will compete with three other party leaders, Abhisit Vejjajiva of Democrat, Samak Sundaravej of People Power and Prachai Leophairatana of Matchima Thipataya, for supports in the capital.

His party has been assigned ballot No 19 as it is the only party to submit the names of 80 partylist candidates on the second day of the registration process. On Wednesday, 18 parties filed their lists and received respective ballot numbers.

Pramuan said his party would field about 200 candidates in the direct vote. He did not project his party's outcome for 480 House seats up for grabs.

"I don't have a stronghold but expect young voters to give my party a chance," he said.

The registration of individual candidantes will start on Monday and complete on Friday.
