She said the club would cover an area of five rai and be situated in Blue Lagoon, the company's latest real-estate project. Sukanya expects both Blue Lagoon's residents and
people who live around the Bang Na area will be attracted to the activities at the club.
"I see the company's chance to generate revenue from new business, because it does not have any big sports club in this zone. I will also promote the sports club to be the selling point of Blue Lagoon for the remaining units and the next development project," said Sukanya.
She added that the sports club would have many facilities, including a swimming pool, gym and restaurants. The company is talking with "many" partners to cooperate on the project and expects to conclude its plans by the end of the year.
"I can't reveal the exact figure of the sports club project right now because I have to deal with partners. As I plan, my company will invest the money, and I am looking for sport experts to operate the club," Sukanya said.
She estimates that construction will start early in the new year and be completed in 2009.
At present, Sukanya said, the number of completed units in Blue Lagoon is 100, half of which have been sold. The first phase will comprise 268 units.
Number One Housing Development launched Blue Lagoon last year. The first phase covers 100 rai and required an investment of Bt2.5 billion.
The company plans to develop the second phase on its remaining area of 100 rai after the first phase is sold.
