Boonsak in quarters

Thailand's Boonsak Ponsana breezed into the quarter-finals of the French Super Series in Paris with a convincing 21-10 21-11 win over Sairul Amar Ayob of Malaysia in the men's singles on Thursday.

The world No 12 Boonsak was due to take on Chinese world No 3 Bao Chun-lai, whom the Thai beat in the recent Japan Super Series, later yesterday.

In the men's doubles, fellow Thais Sudket Prapakamol and Phattapol Ngernsrisuk joined Boonsak in the quarter-finals after dispatching Johannes Schoettler and Tim Dettmann of Germany 21-18 23-21. The Thai pair next face South Korea's Jung Jae-sung and Lee Yong-dae, who defeated their compatriots Lee jae-jin and Yoo Yeon-seong 21-18 21-15 in the second round.
