Swiss chain opens second facility

Movenpick, the international Swiss hotel chain, has signed a management deal to run Movenpick Resort & Spa Pattaya, making it the group's second property in Thailand.

The exclusive 5-star Movenpick Resort & Spa Pattaya will comprise 300 rooms and suites and is scheduled to open at the end of 2010.

The upscale holiday resort is situated on one of Pattaya's beaches, 60 minutes from Bangkok International Airport and five minutes from the centre of Pattaya.

Each of the 300 modern rooms and suites at the resort, which is an integral part of this high quality tourism project, offers unrestricted views of the sea.

A second high-rise with 303 luxury condominiums is under construction next to the hotel.

The resort facilities include a main restaurant, featuring the popular and much-praised Movenpick buffets, two speciality restaurants and an entertainment centre.

The Movenpick Resort & Spa in Karon, Phuket, is the first of this Swiss chain in Thailand.
