Software to file lawsuit against SSO
A software company said Wednesday it would soon file a civil lawsuit to demand Bt1 billion in compensation from the Social Security Office (SSO) after a legal dispute involving a database project was ordered revoked last week by the Council of State.
Prayoon Larpphatthanakul, managing director of SOA Consortium, which was awarded the Bt2.8billion project to activate a database of profiles of SSO beneficiaries, said the SSO should have had the internal conflict settled before opening bidding for the project which his company won.
He said his company was suffering because it had to pay more than Bt5 million a month in interest for a Bt1billion loan to fund the database project.
Prayoon blamed internal conflicts among SSO officials for the reason to have the deal cancelled after the Bt2.8billion was signed.
By scrapping the project to build a database containing profiles of more than nine million SSO beneficiaries, Prayoon said the SSO officials had victimised them out of their own interest and used his firm as a pawn in the game.
