Phya Thai cops moved

The six top officers of the Phya Thai police station were yesterday temporarily transferred to inactive posts pending an investigation after a special police unit raided an illegal gambling den in the station's jurisdiction.

Metropolitan Police commissioner Lt-General Assawin Kwanmuang said he ordered the transfers after the special police unit rounded up 83 gamblers from the illegal gambling den on Soi Kingphet in Ratchathewi district on Friday.

The officers are the superintendent, two deputies and three top inspectors.
