Danai survive two match points to advance in Thailand Open

onthaburi - Danai Udomchoke fought off two match points and came back to beat Iraeli qualifier Harel Levy 5-7 7-6 (7-4) 6-3 in the first round of the ATP Thailand Open on Tuesday.



   The Thai No 1 trailed Levy 6-5 and 40-15 in the second set but gritted his teeth to turn things around and successfully reserved a spot in the next round. The Thai hit 42 winners in the match which last two hours and 14 minutes. 

  "I haven't won a match for quite sometimes, so it wasn' much confident in the first set. But I tried to be more aggressive from then on. I'm glad that I got through the match."

  

 On Wednesday Kittipong Wachiramanowong who receives  a wildcard into the event is to play his first match against world No 11 Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic.
