Police allege Plairung Pisanuphum set alight her motherinlaw's house in Bangkok's Don Muang dis¬trict, causing Bt80,000 in damage. She went to court yesterday with her son, who wore his school uni¬form.

The sixyearold, who starred in the movie "Phee Liang Lukkhon" and a TV drama called "Phon Neu", tearfully said he felt so sympathetic to his mother he could not concentrate in class and if she went to jail, he would go with her.

The public prosecutor filed the arson lawsuit against Tiger's mum, 45, on July 7. It claims that on April 22, 2000 she set fire to the home of her then motherinlaw Bovornjit Hem-thanont. The court was told she had submitted an appeal to the AttorneyGeneral's Office and confessed to the crime. Witnesses were to be questioned to verify her confession.

Bovornjit, currently living in England, and police investigators would also testify to the court. She said she wanted the case to end soon as she was worried about her son's mental state and his studies, which are part of the school's intelligence excellence project.

She said she and her son had never asked former husband Jitinont Hemthanont to assist them, and only receive a bit of some financial assistance from her former coworkers at Channel 11.

Plairung was a top model in 1986 and entered a Miss Thailand beauty pageant in 1988. Later she became a radio programme host and a sports news anchor at Channel 11.
