Frenchman Thibaud Lamère was transferred out of the ICU while Thai Sawitri Dennee, 41, was discharged, spokesman Suphan Srithamma said yesterday.

"Of the total of 41 injured in the tragedy, until today, 23 remain in Phuket Hospital, six at Siriraj Hospital and 17 at Bangkok Hospital Phuket," he said.

Admiral Bannawit Kengrian, chairman of the National Legislative Assembly's transport committee, who visited the One-Two-Go survivors, expressed satisfaction with the measures the low-cost carrier and the authorities had provided for the victims. Their response was fast and appropriate, he said.

"For the real cause of the crash, we need to see what we discover from the black box next week. Pilot conversation records will not be open publicly. All we can confirm is that the aircraft's wheels did not touch the ground before it crashed," he said.

"All airports will also be equipped with closed-circuit monitors from now on. The equipment was taken out due to visual problems with landings and takeoffs in the past. Now we have more advanced technology that can solve that problem," he said.

Phang Nga Governor Winai Buapradit, as well as two representatives from the airline, attended the funeral of victim Suphalak Chue-iew at Sattharam Temple in Thap Phut district.

A cremation was also held in Chiang Mai's San Sai district for another fatality, airline stewardess Kanok-on Pattanaphirom.
