Retail oil prices raised Tuesday

Oil retailers have raised retail prices of all types of oil fuel by 40 satang, effective on Tuesday, citing the tight supply as the reason.

Chaiwat Chooritti, senior executive vice president of PTT, said that the move was based on the tight supply following the emergency closure of 3 refineries in Texas due to Humberto Hurricane as well as strong demand for gasoline and diesel.

"Western countries have also stocked up heating oil for the upcoming winter," he said.

Finished octane-95 gasoline has risen to US$82.42 per barrel while finished diesel at $92.41 a barrel.

Chaiwat said that due to the higher finished oil price, marketing fee of local oil retailers were pressured downward to 30 satang per litre, though the reasonable fee should be Bt1.20 per litre.

Following the increase, octane-95 and octane-91 would be Bt29.59 and Bt28.79 while diesel would be Bt26.94. Gasohol 95 would be Bt26.09.
